The rapid growth of digital health and the introduction of blockchain technology into healthcare systems have created new models for the provision of medical services and the management of insurance coverage, transforming the interaction among patients, service providers, and insurers. Increased transparency, reduced operational costs, and the possibility of automated execution of obligations are among the advantages of this technology. However, alongside these benefits, challenges have emerged regarding the legal validity of smart contracts, the protection of health data, and the determination of civil liability within decentralized structures. The aim of this study is to analyze the legal framework of insurance coverage in blockchain based digital health platforms and to identify the legal challenges associated with them. The research adopts a descriptive analytical method based on library sources, legal documents, and comparative studies. It examines the concepts of digital health, the characteristics of blockchain technology, the legal nature of smart contracts, and the structure of different types of insurance coverage. It also analyzes issues such as the conflict between blockchain transparency and the confidentiality of medical data, the determination of civil liability among platforms, developers, physicians, and insurers, as well as challenges related to jurisdiction and operational risks. The findings indicate that smart contracts are generally compatible with the principles of insurance law; however, their secure and valid implementation requires complementary regulations concerning validation mechanisms, regulatory supervision, and data security.
